As biologist that has indeed worked on projects “transing” mice, if you would like to discuss the craziness of transgender research in biological research I would be happy to have a chat.
On the “transing the mice” topic, what’s even sillier is that Trump’s opponents missed the obvious criticism of cutting that research. Since the research seemed to be about testing the drugs used for gender transitioning for potential side-effects, they could have easily said something like:
“This is your own research you’re cutting, you dopes! You guys have been the one screaming about the dangers of gender-affirming care and you just cut the research that was looking into that question – probably because you knew you the answer wouldn’t serve your agenda!”
As an anarchist, I have no problem with that cut, but I’m surprised there isn’t more division among the Trump people over that particular cut. I suppose there’s so little trust in USAID that maybe they just assume the research was crooked and was just there to confirm the biases of the previous regime.
