Hi Dr Murphy,
On your Twitter account, you retweeted Dr Shiva ayyadurai’s analysis of Michigan voting patterns. It is the smoking gun, isn’t it?
Flat Earthers are not trolls We are serious. Most of us do not believe it’s flat we know it is, And of course it’s quite reasonable that you have never looked into it. This is a great intro video to watch. YouTube > (A Stranger’s Guide to Flat Earth | 21 Questions and Answers (Proving The Earth Is Flat)
Hi Bob,
I think you should do your president vs down-ballot analysis at a county (or even precinct) level. Unfortunately, it might be difficult to obtain such data for smaller counties. I already have a bunch of precinct data for various big cities up here if you want to grab them: https://github.com/snex/election_results_benford
Good episode. I’ve also found the creeping truthiness-injections into the “reporting” very creepy. They often times say “claimed falsely” when it’s just a more complicated issue.
For example on Joe Biden’s record on fracking, or defunding the police, or the Green New Deal. He might not have explicitly said the words “I, Joe Biden, want to ban all fracking at all times immediately.” But he has said lots of grey-area things. So saying “Biden wants to ban fracking” is not clearly a false statement. Yet they always seem to feel the need to insert “falsely” or “lying” now.
No wonder the other side doesn’t trust them any more.
New listener. Looking forward to hearing more of your commentary and view points regarding our world/country.
